What if your streams bought the song?

On HDMediaPlayer, paid listens count toward owning the recording. You pay for the listening you choose, and eligible paid listening builds toward a copy you can keep.

Listen. Support. Own.

  1. Check the release’s prices. Artists set their prices, so a paid listen and the ownership price can differ between releases. Free listening and saving a track are not purchases.
  2. Choose paid listening. Eligible paid listens build progress toward that recording’s ownership price. A play button or a saved library entry alone is not proof of ownership.
  3. Reach the ownership price. Once the recording is owned, repeat listening is free and the original recording can be downloaded through the available download control.

A worked example, not a universal price

“Again” by MitchHD

3¢ per paid listen. $1 to own.

After 10 paid listens, $0.30 has built toward ownership. After 33, the total is $0.99. The final paid listen costs only the remaining $0.01 to complete the $1 ownership price.

That progression illustrates this release’s pricing. Other artists and recordings can use different prices. Check the price and account information in the player before choosing paid listening or a purchase.

What ownership means

You can keep a downloadable copy of the original recording and listen again without a further stream charge for that owned recording. Buying a copy does not transfer the artist’s copyright or grant permission to resell or commercially reuse it. Any separate license still governs those uses.

What happens to my library?

Saving a song helps you find it again. It does not purchase the song or authorize a charge. Paid listening and ownership are separate from a simple saved library entry.

Why build it this way?

A listener can support a recording through intentional paid listening and build a collection, while an artist can choose prices for their own release. The product makes those prices visible instead of treating every recording as the same subscription allocation.
