Boxee Box Review

"Most streaming players are easy to use and Boxee Box is no exception. You plug the device into the wall, connect it to the HDMI input on your TV, turn on both your television and the Boxee Box, and follow the on-screen instructions. You’ll know whether you plugged into the correct HDMI input because Boxee will smile at you. For non-tech people, this streaming media device is great because it configures your Internet connection automatically and tunes itself to your home entertainment system..." Read More...

Roku Review

"Another Roku exclusive is its One-Stop Search, a convenience you’ll come to appreciate when searching for a particular movie or television show. It takes all the offerings across all channels and makes them accessible through a keyword search. So rather than have to search Netflix or Hulu Plus individually for something, One-Stop Search indexes all programming so all you do is enter your search once to locate the program and click to watch it...." Vizio Co-Star TV Media Player Review

"The main screen of the VIZIO Co-Star stream player is nicely navigated with a clean layout of the menu icons on the left side of the screen that connect you to a wealth of television programming, movies, music, your settings and more. The top of the On-Screen Menu includes icons that show your network status, the time of day and any waiting notifications. Next your Favorite Apps are displayed with a drop-down Category Selector menu, followed by All Apps including..." Read More...

How we grade the media players?

Format Support + Ports

It's important that the media player will be able to support all common video, audio and images formats.

Ease-Of-Use

Here we take into consideration things like size, bugs, operating systems and remote controls. Many media players are not easy to install or to operate. Many of them offer their own unique interface and software and while some are easy to use, some are doing really bad job with everything to do with UX (user experience). Also, the remote control could ease the experience, but could also do the opposite.

Content Sources + Features

It's important that the media player we choose will be able to stream content from different kind of sources: Wifi, Lan, its own hard-disc. Besides that, some of the media players will contain apps like NetFlix and Hulu that will allow you to access online content faster and easier.

Price

Of course, all the benefits of each media player should be considered along with its price. We want to get the best deal - get the most but pay the least:) . We try to cacluclate it the best we can in our rankings, but here it's our opinion as consumers that count, and you opinion might be slightly different.
